Tees Maar Khan movie review

Cast: Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Akshaye Khanna; Director: Farah Khan; Rating: 2 ouf of 5.

In December 1966, legendary director Vittorio de Sica made a comedy called After the Fox, which starred Peter Sellers as a master criminal who pretends to be a filmmaker and under the guise of shooting a film, enlists an entire village in a grand heist.

After the Fox didn’t find many admirers when it was released. The New York Times critic Bosley Crowther called it a clutter of nonsense. Incredibly, 44 Decembers later that phrase still holds true.

Tees Maar Khan, adapted from After the Fox, by writers Shrish and Ashmit Kunder, is disappointingly limp and insistently low IQ. The film has little of the effervescence

Band Baaja Baraat Movie Review

Cast: Ranveer Singh, Anushka Sharma, Manmeet Singh; Director: Maneesh Sharma; Rating: 3 out of 5.

There is a lot to like in the new Yash Raj film Band Baaja Baaraat.

The love story of two wedding planners in Delhi, Shruti and Bittoo, played by Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh, has a charm and sweetness that’s been missing from YRF movies for many moons now.

Debutant director Maneesh Sharma, who has also written the story takes us out of the artificial studio setting and into the bylanes of the city. The dialogue and screenplay has been written by Habib Faisal, who directed another charming Delhi story, Do Dooni Chaar. So the characters and atmosphere have an authentic texture. When Bittoo speaks of cutting sugar cane in Saharanpur, you believe him.

No Problem Movie Review

Cast: Anil Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, Suniel Shetty, Kangna Ranaut, Neetu Chandra, Sushmita Sen and Paresh Rawal; Director: Anees Bazmee; Rating: 3 out of 5.

Filmmaker Anees Bazmi can rightly be called the “King of comedy film” for his multi-starrer flick ‘No Problem’ manages to tickle your funny bone. After having delivered comic films like ‘Singh is Kingg’, ‘No Entry’ and ‘Welcome’, Bazmee has replaced David Dhawan (who riled the 1990s with a series of comedy films) by making a series of laughter riots.

In ‘No Problem’, Anil Kapoor plays an eccentric cop while his wife (Sushmita Sen) plays a schizophrenic wife. Sanjay Dutt and Akshaye Khanna are crooks in the film and Suniel Shetty dons the cap of a gangster while Neetu Chandra plays his moll. Kangna Ranaut portrays a sexy bimbette and Paresh

Break Ke Baad Movie Review

Cast: Imran Khan, Deepika Padukone; Director: Danish Aslam; Rating: 3 out of 5.

The modern traits of the youngsters, in connection with the relationships, are dealt in the film Break Ke Baad. The ill-fated verity is that a particular story in an Indian cinema gyrates around a subject and sticks to the very old issue at the conclusion, though commenced with a novel start. Forget it, the smooth handling of the story of the current film led to perplexity at some spot. However, the volatility of the younger generation is portrayed in much better way. The inconsistency in the conduct of the lead pair is aptly given a picture of.

Guzarish Movie Review

Movie: Guzarish; Cast: Hrithik Roshan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Monikangana Dutta, Suhel Seth, Shernaz Patel and others; Direction: Sanjay Leela Bhansali; Rating: 4 out of 5.

The film which is based on mercy killing or euthanasia, has a very basic emotion filled right into its basic storyline- that of unconditional love.

This very feeling of true love is perhaps what keeps the world moving. Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has tackled the issue in a very sensitive way thereby, making it a very theme based movie with a very modern touch, not to forget the blanket of love which will make it commercially viable as well.

Hrithik Roshan plays the protagonist Ethan Mascarenhas, who is a very talented young magician, full of life and energy, until one day he falls prey

Action Replay Movie Review

Cast: Akshay Kumar, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Rannvijay Singh, Kirron Kher, Om Puri, Aditya Roy; Director: Vipul Shah; Rating: 2 out of 5.

Young Bunty (Aditya Roy Kapoor) doesn’t want to marry his girlfriend because he’s seen his mom, Mala (Aishwarya Rai) and dad, Kishen (Akshay Kumar) spend their life sparring with each other. Will he change his mind after he gets a chance to do a bit of time travel, revisit the past and set his parent’s love story straight?

Retro is chic in Bollywood right now. And director Vipul Shah seems to have got his research right on the glorious 1970s, when go-go girls romanced bell-bottomed guys with the twist, the shake and the tube-burst of colours. Stylistically, Action Replayy is a fun watch and sets the 70s generation on a nostalgia binge, even as it opens up an exotic window to a vibrant new world for a whole new generation

Knockout Movie Review

Cast: Irrfan Khan, Kangna Ranaut, Sanjay Dutt , Apoorva Lakhia; Director: Mani Shankar; Rating: 1.5 out of 5.

An old joke about Indian politicians goes that a corrupt politician isn’t one who takes bribes.

He is one who takes bribes and still doesn’t get the work done. After watching Knock Out, I thought we should apply this to filmmakers also: so a mediocre filmmaker isn’t one who steals blatantly. He is one who steals blatantly and still can’t come up with a half decent film.

In Knock Out, writer-director Mani Shankar takes the 2003 thriller Phone Booth and marries it with a plot about getting back approximately Rs 60 lakh crore that corrupt politicians have siphoned out of India and stored in Swiss banks
